But it’s so hard to not prepare moong dal ka halwa during the rest of the year.

This moong dal halwa recipe is made with khoya or mawa. Mawa is the milk solid made by evaporating the milk until it comes together like a very soft dough. The taste of moong dal halwa doesn’t change even when it is stored in the fridge and it stays good for a week or so. I love to make it quite often and store it in the fridge so that my family can relish this beautiful Indian sweet dish for a week.

Previously, I had also shared the recipe of sooji ka halwa, which is made using sooji or semolina. You can check out its recipe here – Sooji ka Halwa Recipe

Now let’s take a look at the moong dal halwa ingredients and preparation. Also, please use non-stick kadhai or pan. Making moong dal halwa in a regular kadhai often gets very difficult and wasteful. Please note that I like my desserts slightly less sweet, so I have added 1 cup of sugar to this recipe. You may increase the quantity of sugar by a couple of tablespoons if you like it sweeter.
