  1. To make the paneer bhurji sandwich, start off by applying butter on the 2 bread slices.
  2. Spread the paneer bhurji generously on one bread.

    Is kasuri methi different from our normal methi leaves dried? Can we just dry the methi leaves and use it as kasuri methi?

      I have already tried that. The results weren’t that great. I recommend you buy Everest kasoori methi. It’s very good quality and very flavourful.

    Was kasuri methi used traditionally in Punjabi cooking or is it a later addition.

      Hi Pallavi. From what I know, kasoori methi is a part of the traditional Punjabi cooking. However, it was made locally like any other spices. I guess that the general population like you and I in other parts of India (I am from Maharashtra) came to know about it later. I have tasted kasoori methi in restaurant foods since I was a kid but didn’t know what exactly it was. I came across it several years later through cookery shows, bought it and then realized that restaurants have been using it since a long time. Since then I have noticed that the packaged one is getting increasingly popular.
